Project Details
I used 3D printing extensively during my time at OffWorld, using FDM and SLA printers to design fixtures for machining, sensor mounts, prototypes for machined parts, aesthetic models, etc. In addition, I improved on the 3D printing lab and made 3D printing processes more accessible to the wider team.
My Contribution
Created operational and maintenance procedures for usage of 3 different FDM printers
Greatly improved SLA printing workflow by documenting the process and training other engineers on the workflow, including design for SLA printing and post-processing of prints
Documented safety procedures for 3D printing lab, and spearheaded effort to make adequate PPE available and collect printer and material Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Improved design and testing workflows by presenting to company on usage of 3D printing, and by assisting other teams with design & print needs
